Foubert’s Place is now home to fashion boutique Aqua’s first flagship store with 3 floors including a design studio in the basement. Founded in 1999 by Julie Lingard as a concept retail store, Aqua is the boutique to go to for on trend showcase dresses, tops and skirts with stunning in-season collections and limited edition runs. The boutique interior, designed by The Dog and Wardrobe, is raw and industrial – vintage x-ray boxes feature on one wall alongside medical trolleys and vintage operating theatre lights creating a timeless backdrop for Aqua’s women’s wear collections and jewellery pieces. Featuring the key collection piece, the Cloud car dress, it’s a future classic that mixes parchment coloured powermesh with teal boiled wool and the obligatory wipe clean surface. Intertwining intense organic shapes and sensual texture, it’s a freeflowing collection not for the style shy. Speaking to Ryan Holliday-Stevens, Creative Director of Aqua he says “This collection builds on the successes of our best selling key shapes but we’ve chosen to use more intricate paneling and enhanced textures that will combine to create something more modern and futuristic but equally as wearable.” Avid followers already include Cheryl Cole, The Noisettes, The Saturdays and Lindsay Lohan who have all been photographed in designs by Aqua. Those that wear Aqua don’t need heels as they already walk tall – besides you can’t ride a Harley in heels . . .
